To all participants of the 3rd selection round for the International Chemistry Olympiad, short two-week internships are offered. In co-operation with universities, national research institutes and partners from industry distributed all over Germany, motivated pupils are allowed to get themselves a first impression of high-quality research. Due to the high number of available groups, the broadness of chemistry is thoroughly covered. The first contact to the chosen group is provided by the FChO; many group leaders once have been participants of the IChO themselves.
Even before their studies begin, motivated young people cannot only try out a particular field of science, but in the same way experience the corresponding working environment at close range. Thus, their decision what to study and, eventually, where to work, can be based on their own knowledge. Next to the federal seminars and the nationwide selection round itself, our short internships pose yet another possibility to support motivated pupils.
